Kate Flannery lives and writes in a small college town. Her essays, poetry, and fiction have been published in such literary journals as Chiron Review, Emerge, Shark Reef, Ekphrastic Review, and Pure Slush.
In 2022, Kate was a finalist in Bellingham Review’s Annie Dillard Award for Creative Nonfiction. That same year, she was shortlisted for Fish Publishing's Poetry Prize, which was judged by Billy Collins. She is currently working on a curated volume about Palmer Canyon in the wake of the Grand Prix Fire of 2003.
Kate works regularly with the Sasse Museum in Pomona, California, contributing to its exhibition catalogs as well as writing ekphrastic poetry to the artwork on display in its spaces. Her writing for the museum has been featured in The Torso Project, Photography Past and Present, Icons, Nudes, and 14 Stations, among other Sasse publications.
Kate is an Editor-at-Large for The Journal of Radical Wonder, where she writes the bi-weekly column “Interludes”.
